just a note
This community was not intended to simply request for layouts. It was to show (and possibly share) any custom styles that you have created. If you need assistance with customization, you should check out howto, the FAQs, or ask at the Support area.

I use the S2 style Opal (Libra OSWD) I don't have meany customizations on it.

I'd like to change the "Friends" link at the top of my pages to link to a friends filter, is there a way I can do that?

I want something kinda like this... http://www.livejournal.com/users/asskickatron/ but with more information and a quote...and i also want a cool looking background based off this picture(not work safe) http://pic1.picturetrail.com/VOL126/1137641/2146851/49065903.jpg and if not that picture then this one(also not work safe)http://pic1.picturetrail.com/VOL126/1137641/2146851/49065906.jpg... or maybe a combo of them both... please someone help... I hate to be like totally helpless but i just can't seem to understand how to do this....

Struggling to Learn
I'm trying to make a layout that looks like this one: jess_elle but with a different background, perhaps a bit wider. But its so overwhelming. I'm not very good with HTML, and I'm just driving myself crazy.

Can anyone point me to some resources where I could learn how to do this? Teach a man to fish and all of that...

Thanks ahead of time.

I made a redirect style for Day, Friends, and Calendar view. I can imagine it'd be useful to people who would prefer not to use any or either of these views for whatever reason, to send people back to their own site. You will need to edit the meta tag in the head, changing my journal's URL to your own, of course. The style IDs are 170873 (Friends), 170879 (Day), and 170878 (Calendar). They are all the same thing. You can also make the wait longer by changing the "1" (standing for one second) in the redirect meta tag to another number.

Bold & Simple Calendar
Thick Black Lines for the table borders, fonts and styles that are changed are all done with css for easy overriding. Month label is linked to the month view ("view subjects" view) rather than having "view subjects" as a seperate item

Printerble Style
Here is a style I made for printing out my journal. All colors are hardcoded so that it is in "printer friendly" colors. It uses times font for the entries, which is a much better printed font than verdana/arial, and also makes use of the full page width so you don't waste too much paper

The only thing not so completly printer friendly is the backgrounds which are yellow, pink, or green, for public, protected, and private respectively.

Style looks best in internet explorer 5/6. There is some degredation of the borders and stuff in netscape 4.x but nothing that makes it unreadable or anything, just not *quite* as pretty
